Tilt-Turn

The Summit Collection Tilt-Turn is truly the Future of Windows. German engineered, the modern European design allows for natural light to fill the inside of your home.  Structurally sound and far exceeding building code requirements, these windows will protect your home from the harsh elements of the East Coast.  Qualifying for Energy Star, the Summit is Atlantic Canada’s highest energy efficient window, saving you on ever-increasing heating costs.

Tilt-Turn windows involve a full glaze operating sash hinged to the side and the bottom of the window frame.  The Tilt-Turn window opens in two ways: (1) from the side by turning the handle down and (2) from the top by turning the handle up.   Some of the standard features that distinguish the Summit Tilt-Turn include: German design, dual action opening, nano technology anti-corrosion coated hardware, multipoint locking system, modern handles available in various finishes and easy to remove screen.

Benefits of Argon Gas Windows Argon is the gas most often used between panes in a double- or triple-glazed window. The gas is colorless and odorless,. Argon is denser than the atmosphere, providing more thermal efficiency than having air between the panes.

    • What Do Filled Windows Offer? Added energy efficiency is the key benefit to having gas-filled windows, . The gas acts as an insulator, working in both summer and winter to keep interiors protected from outside temperatures. Typically, gas infusion is provided in conjunction with applying a low-emissivity (low-E) coating film to the glass panes,.   The low-E coating and gas keep the interior pane of glass closer to the temperatures of the interior air, minimizing air currents that are created when different temperatures come into contact. This reduces drafts and cold spots.

Krypton is derived from a Greek word meaning, “the hidden one.” Because Krypton is a denser gas than Argon, it is also a better insulator. Krypton is a stable and chemically non-reactive gas, making it ideal for insulation. Krypton is more effective when the gap between window panes is narrow, which is why it is more commonly found in triple pane windows than double pane. Krypton is most effective in windows with around a 1/4”- 3/8″ gap. It only occurs in trace amounts within the atmosphere.
